20 Jul Work with RIMTA to Explore Incumbent Worker Training Grants

Rhode Island’s Governor’s Workforce Board has announced the availability of $1.7 million in “rolling” Incumbent Worker Training Grants to provide businesses with matching funds of up to $45,000 in a 12-month period to increase the skills of their current employees and increase the competitiveness and productivity of the business.

Unlike in past years, there is no deadline for grant applications. Instead, businesses may apply whenever they are ready to begin training.  Proposals will be reviewed as they are received, and funding decisions will generally be made within 30 days; grant recipients will in turn be expected to start training within 30 days of approval of the funding.
