Gowrie Group receives national honor

For the third year in a row, Gowrie Group of Westbrook, Conn., was named to a national list of the Top 100 privately-held property/casualty agencies.

The firm also was ranked as the top agency in Connecticut for the second year, and was among the 45 companies on the list that actually grew its business, year over year, despite the economic recession.

Goetz Custom Technologies Starts Construction On The New High Performance G58

July, 2009 - - Bristol, RI - - Goetz Custom Technologies LLC has signed a contract to build the first of its new semi-custom sailboats designed by the world-renowned firm of German Frers Naval Architects.

The buyer is from the United States and plans on using it extensively world wide entering in select regattas. Initial design work is in progress with a view to launch in late spring of 2010.

Goetz building boats again after receivership

Goetz Custom Technologies of Bristol, R.I., unveiled plans to build the first of its new semicustom sailboats, the G58 designed by German Frers Naval Architects.

This is the first boat being produced by Eric Goetz since his former company, Eric Goetz Custom Sailboats, was petitioned into receivership in January. Goetz Custom Technologies in March purchased the assets of the former company from the state-appointed receiver after bidding $450,000.

Boats Work For RI BigSuccess At Providence Boat Show

As part of the Providence Boat Show at the Rhode Island Convention Center, the RI Marine Trades Association featured a Roundtable Discussion on opening day plus a RIMTA Pavilion presenting the new “Boats Work for RI” initiative. The discussion topic was “The Future of Jobs in the Marine Industry” here in Rhode Island and what the industry means to the Rhode Island economic community. The Governor opened the program with his remarks and welcomed the standing room only audience of representatives of businesses, schools, state officials and legislators, the community and the media.
